Twisters or Straws
Twisters  or Straws  as they are popularly known is a great snack time food. It was an instant hit  with members in the family.
Ingredients
1  cup All purpose flour
1 tspn Baking powder
¼ tspn Baking Soda
½ cup grated cheese cheddar
¾ cup Olive Oil/ Canola Oil/ Softened butter
Warm milk (about 2 tbsp)
1 tspn mixed Italian herbs (oregano+rosemary+basil)
1 tspn crushed black pepper/ chilly flakes
salt to taste (about 1 tspn worked for me)
Method
1) In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients and make a soft pliable dough.
2) Let it rest for about 10 min in refrigerator.
3) Preheat the oven at 180c for 5 min.
4) Roll out the dough thinly (like chapatti). Cut long strips about 5 mm in width each and of equal length.
5) Use 3 strips for each straw to create a plait press some water on both ends to seal the individual straw. Alternatively, you can use small balls of dough and rubbing it using the palms create long straws. Slightly twist them. Set aside.
5) Line a baking sheet and place the straws with some space between them.
6) Bake for about 10 min , the first batch and 8-10 min for the following.
7) Flip the cookies after 5-6 min to get even color of both sides.
